Discipleship Resources Page Now Online!

I am participating in one of the new D-Groups (discipleship groups) at my church, Hillside Community Church in Keller, Texas. I have a new page listing some resources I have found to be helpful for me and the other guys in my group. This new page is primarily directed to them but others may find them useful as well. The page will be updated as new helpful material is found.

To get to the page, look under the Resources tab under the site banner picture and select “Discipleship Group Resources”, or click this direct link.

Grace and peace,
Keith

When I Feel Stuck

Feelings and emotions can be quite deceitful, but God’s Word remains true despite what darkness grips your soul and mind. This article by Neil C. Stewart speaks to that.

What if the darkness does not lift? Often, the best path upward is simply to trust and obey. Consider the patience of Job (Job 23:8–12). In the teeth of a hostile darkness, watch him move from confusion (vv. 8–9) through conviction (v. 10) to consecration (vv. 11–12). In a fallen world, Job realizes he will always know more theology than he can feel. Faith bridges the gulf, taking him to a realm the hand of feelings cannot always touch (Heb. 11:1).

Additional Resources Now Available

In the ongoing effort to restore the site back to its previous state I have uploaded some additional files:

  • My Bible Reading Chart. Use this chart and check off chapters as you read your Bible. I first developed this for my own use and it’s been extremely helpful. It is designed to be printed on two sides of a single sheet of paper and folded in thirds, allowing it to fit inside your Bible.
  • A Bible Translation Chart which compares the differences between many popular Bible translations.
  • A Bible Translation Continuum which shows where various Bible translations are regarding Word For Word or Thought For Thought translation.

I have added a Resources menu at the top of the site to help you find them more easily. More resources are coming soon so please keep checking in.

Grace and peace,
Keith

Disclaimer: The Bible Translation Chart and Continuum were not developed by me. They were a free handout from a local Christian store. There is no copyright or other publishing information on them so I am unable to specifically credit the one(s) who developed them.

Book List Back Online!

Getting the book list back online took a lot less time than I thought it would. Be sure to click here to go to the list. I have also placed a link at the top of the site now just under the header. Just click on “Book List” at the top of the page.

Welcome (again!)

Welcome to my site (again!). Unfortunately, I lost most of my content in a server migration gone wrong. There are two pieces of good news though. I only lost about a dozen or so blog posts and some of those were written in Word so I will hopefully be able to find those files and repost them. The other piece of good news is that I didn’t lose any of the data in my book recommendation database!

It will probably take me a little while to get everything back up and running so please check back from time to time to see how things are progressing. My initial focus will be to get the book recommendations back online in some form. It may not be pretty but at least I’ll be able to get it back up.

Thanks for your patience,
Keith
